主讲人简介：罗永现教授曾在澳大利亚国立学校获得历史比较语言学、东南亚语言学、语言类型学博士学位。目前在墨尔本大学担任副教授。是语言学和翻译学的博士生导师。多家国际学术刊物及国际学术出版社特约审稿人，美国国家科学基金会(NSF)特邀评审人，香港科研基金会评审人；教育部特约评审专家（语言学学科）。

讲座摘要：讲座将讨论语言类型学与翻译的关系以及主讲人作为一名译者的一些反思。讲座上还将讨论翻译的本质、翻译的不确定性、语篇结构、词汇语义以及语言类型学对翻译研究的贡献。

Abstract：The talk discusses the relevance of linguistic typology to translation, with reflections from a translation practitioner. Issues to be discussed include the nature of translation, indeterminacy of translation, discourse structure, lexical semantic and how linguistic typology may contribute to translation studies.
