On the afternoon of April 16, the 22nd Stage of Academic Salon Held By Contrastive Analysis and Translation AcademicInnovation Team VS Contrastive Analysis and Applied Research Institute wasSuccessfully held in room 311 of foreign language building. Zhou Lingshun,professor of Yangzhou University was invited as the guest speaker of theacademic salon, whose report titled “ How to make research achieve sustainabledevelopment?- With language contrast and translation studies as the main line.”Dean of CFL, and the leader of contrastive analysis and the academic innovationteam of translation, Shang Xin presided over the salon activities, and someteachers and students joined the discussion. Professor Zhou began from his ownresearch experience, emphasized that language studies should attach greatimportance to language facts and reveal language rules, translation studiesshould make innovation and explore new research area. To achieve thesustainable development of research, researchers must focus on the project,produce academic results in serials, and at the same time ,constantly expandthe research areas. In addition, Professor Zhou also offered preciousexperience such as the declaration and evaluation of the research project, thestrategy of deepening the research on translation theory, and the explorationof research topics.

  Thereport given by Professor Zhou was featured by profundity and was easy tounderstand, which is also rich in examples and enlightening. After the lecture,the participating teachers and students had a heated communication anddiscussion with Professor Zhou about translation,and the declaration of thescientific research project.
