Participants’ Profile:

Tong Helong, Associate professor, College of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Maritime University

Research: Formal syntax, English Chinese comparison and translation

Academic Achievement: he has published many academic papers, participated in the compilation of national planning textbooks for the Eleventh Five Year Plan and the Twelfth Five Year Plan, and is one of the main writers of the Encyclopedia of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics published by Peking University Press. Participated in the major base project “Research on foreign language ability standards and evaluation system of primary and middle school students in China” of the State Language Commission in 2013. At present, he is in charge of the humanities and Social Sciences and National Social Sciences projects of the Ministry of education.


Chen Shupeng, Associate professor, College of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Maritime University

Research: South China Sea issue, marine science and governance.

Academic Position: Member of the Military Oceanography Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Oceanography, visiting scholar of the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami, USA, member of the Corbett Marine Strategy Research Center of the British National Defense Academy, and member of the first international relations theory innovation class of the Institute of International Relations, Tsinghua University, mainly engaged in marine science, interdisciplinary research on international issues of marine politics with the foundation of intelligent expert support system, strategic management, game theory, fishery resources management, etc.

Scientific Research Achievement: Presided over and completed one general project of international research of National Social Science Fund and one sub project of major special projects of national social science.


Song Jingyao, Lecturer, College of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Maritime University

Research: Modern Chinese grammar, grammar teaching and acquisition of Chinese as a foreign language.

Academic Achievement: she has published more than 10 papers, including 2 CSSCI (Series) and 1 CSSCI extended edition. She has undertaken one project funded by the National Social Sciences in the later stage and two provincial and ministerial decision-making consultation projects.


Mo Wei, Lecturer, College of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Maritime University

Research: Overseas Sinology history and the influence of Chinese and Western culture (taking modern Shanghai city as an example).

Academic Achievement: she has published several papers in Sinology journals at home and abroad. At present, she is in charge of one national social science Fund project and one Shanghai Social Science Fund project.
