On the 18th NationalCongress of the Communist Party of China, Held in November of 2012, the partyhas elected Xi Jinping as the head of the fifth generation of leadership of thecentral committee of the communist party of China, ending the change ofelection lasting for 10 years. People in Shanghai are perhaps quite familiarwith the name of Xi Jinping because he was Former Shanghai Party Secretary in2007. And the older generations know him more possibly owing to his father XiZhongxun, one of the founders of New China.

Assuming the office of Shanghai Party Secretary in2007, Xi Jinping has been the focus of attention from all walks of life, andgained praise of them. Xi can get such a high evaluation, naturally due to hishard work and self-discipline, but also insparably due to the example of hisfather, a former vice premier of the State Council, and vice chairman of theStanding Committee of the CPC. His family advocates strict education and spiritof industry and thrift. Xi’s father argues that, as the party's seniorofficials, the first thing is to start from oneself and one’s own families.Under the strict education of his parents, Xi always leads a simple life. Inhis childhood he, along with his younger brother often wore their eldersisters’ clothes and shoes. After Xi played a leadership role, he host familymeetings on which he asked other children of his family shall not engage inbusiness activities in the field of his work. Influenced by his parents, Xisticks to the family traditions, and is also very strict with his families.After he became the leading official, he would tell his friends and relativeswhere he worked, “Please don’t engage in any business activity in the placewhere I work, please don’t want to receive any preferential treatment in myname, otherwise don't blame me to give you server punishment." Whetherworking in Fujian, Zhejiang or Shanghai, he solemnly said this publicly in theofficial conference and he was delight to make others supervise him.

The first impression Xi left on me is that he isstrict with himself and more tolerant to others. We are the one-childgeneration, which means that there are six adults with only one child in afamily.  This family pattern is rathereasy for us to make demanding for others, and make relax for ourselves. Weshould seriously think about the question that how to be strict with oneselfand be more tolerant to others now.

Xi said, “People’s yearning for a better life is ourgoal." In recent days, state leaders such as Xi Jinping and Li Keqianghave visited the grass-roots level. According to the report of the Hong KongWen Hui Newspaper, during Xi’s visit in Guangdong, he personally carried out“eight rules” (rules on cutting expenses and procedures when officials visitthe grass-roots level for work). During the process of inspection, Xi’scharacteristics--- simple, friendly, kind, won the affection of his people,which was of great demonstration significance to improve government ethicsmorals. As a leader, Xi can still keep a low profile, which teaches a lessonfor those arrogant college students.

Xi is not only kind to his people on the job, but alsonice to his wife Peng Liyuan on the processing of family relations. Xi neverasked Peng to do the housework at home and serve him. He said, "I didn'tworried about her career and life, and I also can't help her. So, how can I, inturn, ask her to do that at home? As long as she feels happy, whether she doeschores at home or not, I'm also happy.” It is a very difficult to do excellentin your own task and make clear definition of your work. Naturally, the vitalthing we should learn from Xi is to be true and honest in life and family.

Xi’s speech on the "Chinese dream" on May 4has deeply influenced on me. What is a dream? What is the "Chinesedream"? On the site of visiting the exhibition of “the road to revival” inthe national museum of China, Xi tell everyone that to realize the greatrejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the greatest dream in modern times. Andthis is our "Chinese dream". As we all know, we only have oneprecious youth. For now, the youth is used to make arduous efforts; In thefuture, the youth is used to recall the memory. The road of life is filled withunavoidable ups and downs, twists and turns, therefore, we will face manychoices in life while our outlook on life, world outlook and values aregradually formed. In this way, we should train our psychological quality,enhance indomitable determination, keep optimistic state of mind, and learnfrom setbacks in life. This is the way we should go now to witness therealization of the Chinese dream.

The reason why a person is great is that except forhis own excellence, he can infect people around him to be better. And now, fromXi, I see the hope.
