Measures for the Implementation of Demonstration Post of Teaching and Science Researching in CFL(trial)
To promote the college’s teaching quality during the 12th Five-Year Plan and to accomplish the scientific goals smoothly, as well as push forward the rapid development of discipline and specialty
construction in the medium and long term (2015-2020), we should strengthen our talent team building, gather the teaching group,
exploit the scientific research potential and play a leading role. The college Party-government conference negotiated and decided
that put demonstration post of teaching and scientific research into practice on a trial basis within our college, and specially draw
up the Measures for the Implementation of Foreign Language College on teaching and science researching Demonstration Post
(for trial implementation) as follows.
1. The principles of prescription and appointment of the demonstration post
1.1 Apply for the post individually, the best applicants will be employed.
1.2 Assess the target and focus on actual performance.
1.3 The demonstration post will be rewarded according to one’s performance.
2. The number of the demonstration post assigned and term of employment
2.1 Both the demonstration post of scientific research and the demonstration post of teaching will employ 2-3 teachers respectively.
2.2 Employment term: 2 years. After finish the tasks in the former term, the employment term could be extended and sign another
goal with the college.
3. The requirements of the demonstration post
Teachers apply for the demonstration post of scientific research or the demonstration post of teaching should meet the following requirements:
3.1 The requirements of the demonstration post of teaching
3.1.1 The applicant should have taken charge of or be in charge of key course construction project above the university level
(include the university level), and should have published 2 papers concerning teaching research in domestic key journals in late 5years.
3.1.2 with a master’s degree or higher, and under 45 years old.
3.1.3 Good teaching performance during the last employment term, and the appraisal is competent or better.
3.2 The requirements of the demonstration post of scientific research
3.2.1 The applicant should have taken charge of or be in charge of key course construction project above the provincial level
(include the provincial level), and should have published 3 papers in domestic journal of CSSCI in late 3 years.
3.2.2 With a doctor’s degree, and under 40 years old.
3.2.3 Good teaching performance during the last employment term, and the appraisal is competent or better.
4. Targets and requirements for the teachers on demonstration post during the employment term
4.1 Targets for demonstration post of teaching during the employment term
4.1.1 Being a host to apply and obtain one of key courses designated by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
4.1.2 Publish at least 2 papers, one of the papers should be published in the CSSCI journal, and the other should be published
in foreign periodicals with certain reputation. Or produce a CSSCI paper and host and compile a textbook on relevant curriculum.
4.1.3 Accomplish the teaching tasks stipulated by the college, at least 2 curriculum students’ evaluation score of education rank
top 20% in the university during the employment term.
4.1.4 Give at least a lecture or open course concerning teaching and scientific research for teachers and students each semester.
4.1.5 Take actively part in the building of excellent teaching team in our college.
4.2 Targets for demonstration post of scientific research during the employment term
4.2.1 Being a host to apply and obtain a national social science project, or 2 projects above the bureau-level.
4.2.2 Publish at least 3 papers as lead author, two of the papers should be published in the CSSCI journal, and the other should
be published in foreign periodicals with certain reputation.
4.2.3 Give academic lectures each semester for teachers and postgraduates respectively.
4.2.4 Take actively part in the building of excellent teaching team in our college.
4.2.5 Accomplish teaching tasks no less than 70% of the average workload of the college that year.
5. Treatment of demonstration post during employment term
5.1 Enjoy the allowance of demonstration post during employment term i.e. ascend half level from the original post. 70% of the
ascended allowance will be granted every month, and 30% will be granted according to the appraisal.
5.2 The workload could be reduced 30% of the college average workload that year.
5.3 If the teacher on the demonstration post published papers concerning teaching and scientific research, works or textbooks,
and hence obtained teaching achievement prize, humanities and social science research achievement award and so on, will be
rewarded according to related college files, and not restricted to this provision.
6. The recruitment procedures of demonstration post
6.1 Apply for the post individually, and fill the Application Form for teachers on demonstration post in Foreign Language College (appendix1).
6.2 The college professors constitute evaluation and employment group, the dean as the group leader to host replies and discussions.
6.3 The evaluation and employment group would put forward the proposed candidates; the candidates will be appointed officially
after the discussion of Party-government conference.
7. The assessment methods of demonstration post and application of the results
The assessment for demonstration post is divided into assessment for academic year and assessment for employment term. The teachers
of demonstration post should fill in the Evaluation Form for Teachers on Demonstration Post in Foreign Language College (appendix2).
7.1 The assessment for academic year will be carried on at the end of the academic year, the deputy dean in charge of teaching and
the deputy dean in charge of scientific research will organize relevant personnel to inspect and assess the work progress of the teachers
on demonstration post, and put forward suggestions and requirements for work improvements.
According to the target requirements and work plan during the employment term of the teachers on the demonstration post, if 60% of
the progress of the academic year had been finished, 30% of the ascended allowance will be granted in full. If not, the allowance will
be suspended. When the employment term terminated, the supplementary allowance will be granted in accordance with the teachers’ assessment results.
7.2 The assessment for employment term will be carried on at the end of the employment term, organized and implement by dean of the college.
If the teacher passed the assessment, the ascended allowance for 2 academic years will be granted in full, and if there’s any suspended
allowance in the first academic year will be supplemented. If not, 30% of the ascended allowance for the second academic year will be
canceled, so as the suspended in the first academic year.
7.3 The result of assessment for employment term is a chief gauge of the extended employment term.
8. Supplementary provisions
This measure will effect after the discussion of and put through by the Party-government conference of Foreign Language College, and will be officially implemented since the academic year of 2013-2014. The Party-government conference of Foreign Language College is responsible for explanation.
