The method oftutors of undergraduate classes work evaluation in CFLTrial)

To further improvethe undergraduate class tutors’ work evaluation mechanisms, promote theformation of new undergraduate class work force, and constantly improve thequality of College Students, according to the "Shanghai MaritimeUniversity mentoring implementation", combined with the actual condition ofthe college, we have develop “The method of tutors of undergraduate classeswork evaluation in CFLTrial)”.

First, TutorQualifications

Teacherswho undertake the tutor work should have the following qualifications:

1. Teachersshould have a high degree of responsibility and professionalism for Personneltraining work.

2.Teachersshould be familiar with the student’s professional education programs andprofessional development status and trends.

3.Teachers should have the professional or similar professional backgrounds andmaster’s degrees or intermediate and above titles.

Second, Tutor Responsibilities

1.Guide students to develop a reasonable scientific training plan and helpstudents form a complete and systematic knowledge structure.

2.Pay full attention to the students’ learning process, and know students’learning dynamic; timely and effective to improve the quality of studentlearning. Tutors should pay attention to the construction of class atmosphereof study, and guide class leadership (class) to develop construction program ofclass rules and class metto and class atmosphere, and then execute andsupervise implementation.

3.Regularly hold class meeting activity to promote the communication betweenteachers and students, and record the related activities.

4.Recommend class cadre; recommend students to participate in all kind ofpractical activities and competition; encourage and guide students to apply forall types of internal and external scholarships (project).

5.Teachters work as tutors in the seventh semester shall be assess the students’grades for attending to expert results before the end of the semester.

Third, Tutor Appointment

Intensivetutors’ work is an important part to improve the training quality of universitystudents. It is the due obligations for each of the college teachers toundertake the tutors’ work. Every year before the new semester, according to thefollowing procedure, the college appoints undergraduate college classes tutors: 

1.Combined with the arrangement of curriculum, the college will allocate thetutor’s quota to each department.

2.We take the combined way of department director recommended with declare way ofthe teachters, and then the director of department report list to college.

3.After agreed by college study, tutor appointment list will published in theacademic year.

Forth, Class tutor appraisal committee

Thecollege sets up tutor evaluation work committee, and the memebers composed bysecretary of college party committee, vice president of the secretary of theparty committee, vice president of the teaching, the teaching secretary, representativesof the counselor; the commitee is responsible for the specific organizationevaluation of college undergraduate class tutor.

Fifth, Class tutor work assessment requirements

1.Every year in early June, the college organize class tutor to assess the workof the academic year;

2.Assessment of the content and the weight

Thereare three item for assessment, and the total score is 100 points. The weightsof assessment items are as follows:

(1)Student assessment: 50%;

(2)the class tutor routine work assessment: 40%;

(3)class average sorting: 10%.

(4) pointsfor assessment of project: 1 ~ 10 points

Theclass under the guidance of the tutor gets good results in the quality educationactivity or the class have great contribution to collective honor for college,can be added 1 to 10 scores.(Presided over by a deputy secretary of theinstitute in charge of the student work to listen to the relevant personnel opinion, and decided by  college tutor assessment team)

3. Appraisal is divided into four grades:excellent, good, pass, not pass;

Excellent: the top 15%, test score of 90 points or more;

The good: examination ranking before 16% ~ 60%, testscore of 80 points or more;

Pass: the test score of 60 points or more;

Not pass: the exam score below 60 points.

Six, the use of evaluation results

Thework evaluation results of the class tutors has close related to awarding, andthe bonus is determined by the joint meeting of Party and government research.

Classtutor evaluation in the academic year, who obtained excellent, good, pass, canget respectively to A, B, C three level reward by the college. If the tutorfailed to reach the standard of the workload, college will give 20 hours persemester to offset, and offset part may not be used as the measurement base forsuper workload subsidies.

Classtutor who not pass the year appraisal, college does not grant to reward work andto offset, the academic year will not be directing; If the class tutor not passthe appraisal in two consecutive year , college will cancel the qualificationof teacher.

Seventh, annex

The"evaluation methods (for Trial Implementation)" approved andpublished by the joint meeting of the promulgation of the college of foreignlanguages of party and government. If there are any differences in this"evaluation methods” to the relevant provisions of the original file,these should work according to this methods. College class tutors assessmentteam is responsible for the interpretation work file.
