Xian Li has completed her PhD in Education at the University of Nottingham before joining Shanghai Maritime University in 2017. She achieved her BA degree in Japanese Studies at Shanghai International Studies University in 2011. Xian furthered her study at the University of Warwick from 2011 to 2013. During her study in the UK, she has given presentations at a couple of high-status international academic conferences. Her research interests include the teaching and learning of Chinese heritage language, second language acquisition, teacher training and development and ethnographic studies. She used to teach a wide range of students from various backgrounds before taking up a position in School of Foreign Languages. She is currently teaching English Writing and Translation.
