In the afternoon of January 6, the College of Foreign Languages held a working seminar for professors and department heads in Room 515 of the Foreign Languages Building, with the presence of He Li, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and all members of the College team.
Deputy Secretary He Li pointed out that the work of the College is steadily advancing and certain achievements have been made. However, the university has placed higher expectations on the College in building a high-level maritime university with global influence, and the College should provide language services and guarantee for the characteristic development of the university. Seizing the opportunity of the development of the Lin-gang Special Area, the College will establish a team of teachers to meet the diverse language needs of foreign-related work and activities and provide language support and services for the development of Lin-gang.
Zhu Yaobin, secretary of the College, reviewed the main work and achievements of the College in the past year and thanked everyone for their unity and support in accomplishing various teaching, research and management tasks during the period of the epidemic. He introduced the main tasks of the college in the next period and pointed out that the college should strengthen the construction of teaching materials, professional construction as well as scientific research and teaching team construction.
During the meeting, the participating teachers made active suggestions on the professional construction of the college, construction of teaching materials, construction of translation team, and reform of college English teaching.
The atmosphere of the seminar was active and relaxed. The College will focus on the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral character, firmly establish the central position of talent cultivation, and continuously promote the implementation of the tasks in the College.
