Song Zhiping, Professor, and Head of the Department of Translation, Director of the Institute of Translation Studies, Executive Director of the International Society of Ecological Translation Studies, and Associate Editor of Ecological Translation Studies. He is a visiting scholar at the University of Warwick, UK, and the University of Pittsburgh, USA.
Lecture Introduction:
In the field of language services, there are two concepts that are easily confused, namely “translation” and “localization”. Sometimes these two terms are used interchangeably, and while there are many similarities and fundamental differences. A lack of understanding of these two concepts greatly affects the communication between companies and their target audiences.
