Lecture Introduction:
How to publish one’s topic in domestic and international academic journals is a question often discussed by young teachers. This lecture will introduce the ways and types of international publication, and share how to discover high-quality paper topics from daily work and life, and process them into high-quality papers for publication in international authoritative journals, starting from the lecturer’s experience. The lecture will be interactive with students and faculty members to share their concerns.
Lecturer Profile:
Wei Ren, Ph.D., Professor, Ph.D. supervisor. He is currently a professor in the School of Foreign Languages at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His main research area is second language pragmatics, and his research interests cover pragmatics, second language acquisition, and online communication. He has led many research projects including the National Social Science Fund of China and the Major Project of the Key Research Bases of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education and has published many papers in Applied Linguistics, Assessing Writing, Discourse Context & Media, ELT Journal, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, IRAL, Journal of Pragmatics, Language Teaching, Modern Language Journal, Pragmatics, Pragmatics & Cognition, Pragmatics & Society, System, etc. He has published more than 60 papers and 12 book reviews in authoritative academic journals at home and abroad. He has published one monograph internationally and compiled two special issues in SSCI journals. He has been listed in Elsevier’s “Highly Cited Scholars in China” list in 2020. He holds several part-time positions, including executive director of the Chinese Philological Society and executive director of the Chinese Association for Second Language Acquisition. He has served as an editorial board member and reviewer for several domestic and international journals.
