Lecture Introduction:

The first part briefly introduces the characteristics and significance of current foreign translation, mainly using cases to introduce the angles that translators need to pay special attention to in the practice of foreign translation by categories, emphasizing the translators’ awareness of national policies, ideological awareness, and cultural differences. The second major part focuses on the elements of the current training of translation professionals. Combining the experiences and lessons learned from the past translation education, it looks forward to the future direction of the growth and employment of translation professionals.

He was a member of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Vice Chairman of the International Translators’ Union, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of China Foreign Language Publishing and Distribution Bureau and Director of China Internet News Center, Secretary-General of China Translation Association, and Editor-in-Chief of China Translation Magazine.

He has long been involved in the foreign translation of party and government documents and has served as an interpreter for party and state leaders. He has long been engaged in foreign publications and international communication.

He has participated in the translation and translation review of Party and government documents and leaders' speeches, including Jiang Zemin on the Three Represents and Xi Jinping on Governance (Volumes I and II), and has presided over the preparation of the Chinese-English Glossary of Terms Commonly Used in Foreign Affairs Work and the Updated Glossary of the Chinese-English Translation Dictionary.

His translations also include the masterpieces of American literature Vanity Fair Fire, Marshall Biography, and The Unconquered King; in recent years, he has completed Made in China, 21 Actual Chinese Contemporary Literature Book, I Come from Xinjiang, Pudong Story, China’s Opportunity, To the Middle Current: The Tide of Economic Globalization and the Destiny of China, 70 Years of the People’s Republic of China, China Face to Face and other multi-million words Chinese to English translation of approved manuscripts.
