The College of Foreign Languages conducted an introduction meeting of undergraduate freshmen majors for the class of 2022

In order to enhance the understanding of the subject settings and professional training directions of the undergraduate students of Class 2022, the College of Foreign Languages conducted an introduction meeting for undergraduate students' majors through Tencent Conference in the afternoon of October 12. The meeting was conducted by Guo Haixia, Vice Dean of the College, Zhou Xiang, Head of English (Shipping) Department, Song Zhiping, Head of Translation Department, Wang Xian, Head of Business English Department, and Xu Xiuzhi, Head of Japanese Department, and presided over by Su Haowen, counselor of 2022 undergraduate students, with the participation of all 2022 undergraduate students.

Vice Dean Guo Haixia extended a warm welcome to the new students of the Class of 2022 and introduced the undergraduate training process of the College of Foreign Languages from four aspects: the development history and discipline development overview of the College of Foreign Languages, the focus of foreign language major studies, the major stream of major admissions, and the recommendation of exempted graduate students. During the meeting, four department heads of English (Shipping), Translation, Business English and Japanese gave a comprehensive introduction to the development history, professional characteristics, faculty, training direction and employment situation of the major, and answered students' confusion and questions about the major.

This freshman major introduction deepened the students' understanding of the major, which helped the subsequent course study and career development planning, and provided guidance for students to subsequently carry out major category streaming and reasonably choose their major direction.
