Freshmen students are full of dreams and confusion about their major choice, study and development. Timely answers and guidance are very important, it helps young students to set their goals earlier and study better at ease. First-year students are invited to write down the main problems they encounter in their professional studies on a slip of paper, and I will provide my own personal views and suggestions based on my own study and work experiences and perceptions.
Lecturer Profile:
Zhiguo Zhang, PhD, is a professor in the School of Foreign Languages at Shanghai Maritime University, a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Language Strategy Research Center at Nanjing University and a part-time researcher at the Language and Cyberspace Security Research Center at Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, a member of the Board of Directors of the Language Policy and Planning Research Society of the Chinese Linguistic Society, the Vice Chairman of the Yangtze River Delta Language Governance Research Alliance, and a reviewer of several domestic foundation projects. His main research interests are language policy and language planning. Recent courses taught: English Lexicography, Introduction to Linguistics, Introduction to Language Policy, Sociolinguistics.
