Shanghai Asia-Pacific Typhoon Research Center (SATRC) Visited the College of Foreign Languages.

On September 27, Zhang Yan, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, received Tang Jie, Director of Shanghai Asia-Pacific Typhoon Research Center (SATRC) and his delegation. The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on the development of the college and the business of the Typhoon Research Center.


At the meeting, Dean Zhang introduced the history of the College of Foreign Languages, the construction of disciplines, the scale of faculty, the situation of students, and the construction of the Multilingual Service Center in the new area of Lingang. As a maritime college focusing on foreign language education and scientific research, the College of Foreign Languages is committed to cultivating talents with international vision and cross-cultural communication skills. The construction of the Multilingual Service Center in Lingang New Area will provide more practice opportunities for students and enhance their language ability and employment competitiveness.


Director Tang then introduced the business scope and company scale of Shanghai Asia-Pacific Typhoon Research Center (SATRC) and expressed his intention to cooperate with the College of Foreign Languages. As an organization focusing on typhoon research, Shanghai Asia-Pacific Typhoon Research Center (SATRC) hopes to cooperate with the School of Foreign Languages in the integration of industry and education, provide internship and practice bases for students, and jointly promote the integration of students' theory and practice.


Both sides had an in-depth exchange on the subsequent cooperation in the meeting, including the specific cooperation methods of industry-teaching integration and the construction of internship and practice bases for students. Both sides agreed that through the cooperation, more practice opportunities can be provided for students to enhance their professional ability and employment competitiveness.


The meeting laid the foundation for the cooperation between the College of Foreign Languages and Shanghai Asia-Pacific Typhoon Research Center, and both sides said they would further strengthen communication and cooperation, build more platforms for students' development, and jointly promote the development of education and scientific research.
