The College has benefitted from many celebrated professors such as Zuo Biao, Wang Juquan, Han Zhonghua, Wang Dawei and Zheng Lixin, who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of the Theory and Practice of Translation, English-Chinese Contrastive and Translation Studies, Linguistics, English and American Literature, and American and British Culture. Currently the College has a strong staff of 120 full-time teachers, including 12 professors, 39 associate professors, 27 PhD holders and candidates; all teachers under 40 have a master’s degree or above, and 4 foreign experts and teachers are employed. Throughout the history of the College, teachers have won numerous honors and awards, including: 1 National May 1st Labor Model, 1 Nationally Advanced Individual in Fostering Students Through Education, Management and Service, 1 National Excellent Educational Worker, 2 Advanced Workers in the Nation’s Transport System, 3 Shanghai Model Workers, 1 Shanghai Renowned Teaching Master, 2 Shanghai Talent-Cultivation Awards, 2 Shanghai March 8thRed-banner Pace-setters, and 6 State Council’s Special Government Allowance Winners.
